ACCESS STATEMENT FOR COED GELERT HOLIDAY COTTAGES
Access to Coed Gelert is generally via
the main road entrance. In addition, there is pedestrian access
at the east end of the site via a kissing gate and chipped slate
path with one step to tarmac roadway and cottage entrances. One
parking area is tarmac and the other grasscrete, which may not
be so easy for some guests. Although we do not normally reserve
spaces for any particular cottage, if you do have a problem, please
let us know.
Access to the cottages and ground floor rooms is all on one level
and wheelchair friendly, with accessible toilet (door opening outwards),
but there is NO bedroom on the ground floor. Bedrooms are reached by
one flight of stairs with banisters on one side and a solid wall on
the other.

details' sheets. Doors/doorways are wood contrasted against cream walls.
Showers are of standard size but have bifold doors which open from
both sides, and the bath has grab handles.
All light switches are at waist height and plugs are at a height of
50cm from the floor (except kitchen where they are at countertop level).
TV has teletext and remote control.
Each cottage has a dedicated telephone line for the use (at cost of
calls) for guests for either telephone or laptop use.
All furniture (other than kitchen) is moveable so can be rearranged
to accommodate any specific needs.
Gardens and patios can be accessed as follows:-
- 'Y Garn'& 'Aran' from front
door by small paved slope.
- 'Sygun' from front by small paved
slope and concrete path, or from lounge via patio doors with
one step down.
- 'Craig-y-Llan'& 'Hebog'
from the lounge via patio doors with one step down, or from the
front of the cottages via a rear garden entrance on a chipped
slate path that leads to open National Trust fields and Gelert's
Grave.
Owners live on site and access to their house is via a gentle tarmac
slope.
